
This simple apple sauce is perfect as an after dinner treat or as a side to your favorite cozy supper. Apples are already very sweet so I just use a little bit of honey. Find my recipe that I make every apple season here in Vermont down below and don't be afraid to tweak it to add your own twist.
Ingredients:
- 5 apples
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
Steps:
- Visit your local apple orchard during peak picking.
- Peel your apples, and after cutting into chunks, add to a large saucepan with your water, honey, and spices.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes.
- Let cool slightly, and mash until you have your desired consistency.
- Enjoy!
